Pardew eyes reunion with former Newcastle ace

first_img Davide Santon 1 Inter Milan are ready to let former Newcastle defender Davide Santon leave the San Siro – putting Crystal Palace on red alert.Current Eagles boss Alan Pardew signed the Italy international whilst in charge of the Magpies back in 2011 and is an admirer of the 24-year-old’s ability to operate in a number of positions.Inter have told both Santon and team-mate Danilo D’Ambrosio that their futures lie away from Serie A and, according to Football Italia, the ex-Toon star is ready to link-up with Pardew again.Although negotiations have yet to take place, Santon, who made 82 Premier League appearances in a four-year spell with the Magpies, wants to give English football another crack.Pardew is reportedly aware of the Italian’s availability and Inter’s willingness to part with the defender – who was once billed as the next Paolo Maldini.Palace could land Santon for around £3m and the player’s future is set to be sorted one way or another before the conclusion of the transfer window.last_img read more
