first_img Tags: BYU Football FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailCHARLESTON, S.C.-Per an announcement released Tuesday, BYU quarterback Zach Wilson and tailback Tyler Allgeier were named to the College Performance Awards Watch List for November 2020 for the CFPA National Performer of the Year trophy.Wilson, a decorated junior signal-caller out of Draper’s Corner Canyon High School, is among the national leaders in various statistical categories.Wilson ranks second nationally with 2,512 yards and leads the nation in points responsible for (184).He is tied for the national lead in touchdown passes (22) with Texas senior signal-caller Sam Ehlinger, Florida senior quarterback Kyle Trask and Memphis senior quarterback Brady White.His eight rushing touchdowns lead the nation for quarterbacks as well.He ranks fourth nationally in completion percentage (166-221, .751 percent) and fifth in passing efficiency.Allgeier, a sophomore, leads the Cougars with 710 rushing yards (12th nationally) and nine rushing scores, (tied for 13th nationally with West Virginia junior tailback Leddie Brown and Marshall junior tailback Brenden Knox).Allgeier ranks 14th nationally in rushing yards per carry (6.7 yards) and is tied for 15th in total touchdowns (9).Allgeier shares the latter distinction presently with Cincinnati senior tailback Gerrid Doaks, South Carolina sophomore tailback Kevin Harris, LSU junior receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. and Alabama senior receiver DeVonta Smith.Additionally, BYU senior defensive lineman Bracken El-Bakri is on the nomination list for the Wuerffel Trophy.This honor awards those who serve others and celebrates their positive impact on society while also inspiring greater service in the world among FBS student-athletes.El-Bakri has 34 net tackles this season and adding 2.5 sacks for the Cougars defensively.BYU returns to action November 21 as they host the North Alabama Lions.
