God is present even in the most insignificant of matters – Bishop

first_img SharePrint Gozo’s Bishop Mario Grech stressed that God is present even in the most insignificant of matters.Mgr. Grech said this on the 19th of July, during the homily given on the occasion of the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, which is celebrated in Balluta. He explained that large and pompous matters or celebrations amplify humanity’s presence, rather than God’s. Therefore, one should look for God in the smallest and most insignificant of matters, and should look for signs of goodness, truth and beauty, as these are the tells that God is present. The Virgin Mary herself, handpicked by God, was but a young girl living in a tiny village called Nazareth. But God called on her to be the Queen Mother, and give birth to Jesus Christ himself. He added that signs of goodness, truth and beauty are also present in non-Church related activities; politics, education, commerce, arts, sports and others can be positive activities that are signs of God’s presence among humanity.Bishop Grech stressed that God has a love that encompasses all, and therefore would never abandon humanity. God allows free will, and does so by not imposing his obvious presence. He concluded by saying that Catholics should be a positive presence, and must recognise and build upon the good that lies in the smallest of matters. Moreover, God may also be communicating his presence through people whom one may deem unfit for His mission. However, he stressed that the road to sainthood is one that is arduous, but that one must not be overwhelmed, and proceed by putting one foot in front of the other.WhatsApp <a href=’https://sp2.img.hsyaolu.com.cn/wp-shlf1314/2023/IMG5803.jpg” alt=”last_img” />
