Trelleborg Launches Whitepaper and Webinar for LNG Sector

first_imgzoom Trelleborg has launched a new whitepaper and on-demand webinar for the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) sector, discussing the complexities of systems integration requirements in docking, mooring and transfer for the rapidly evolving FLNG market.Richard Hepworth, President of Trelleborg’s Marine Systems Business Unit, said: “With floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) representing the majority of FLNG projects currently being executed – or in the pre-FEED stage, we felt that this was an important areas to address.“With more than two entities required to interface with each other, systems integration becomes increasingly complex as the requirements of all three entities need to be considered holistically. This is essential in order to ensure the optimum solution for all three elements, and minimise operational difficulties down the line.”The new whitepaper, “Avoid the Disconnect” discusses the issue in depth, examining the differing regulations on design requirements between jetty, FSRU and LNG Carrier. It also highlights the importance of centralised monitoring and communications systems, to streamline and align information sharing between all three entities. The on-demand webinar, “A Comprehensive Approach to FLNG Docking and Mooring Systems” goes further into the issues, discussing the pitfalls of considering docking and mooring systems elements for FSRU projects in isolation and the impact of the mooring system arrangement on systems integration. In addition to Trelleborg Marine Systems’ fendering, docking and mooring solutions for LNG, the company has recently expanded with the addition of two new product areas. Firstly, Oil and Gas Transfer Technology, a product portfolio which includes Universal Safety Link for Small Scale LNG transfer and LNG fuelling (USL) and Ship-Shore Safety Link System (SSL). Secondly, Vessel Technology, which includes state-of-the-art ship performance technology which significantly reduces both emissions and fuel costs.Trelleborg’s wider offering for the LNG sector also extends to its Cryoline LNG hose, which is currently in the qualification stage, as well as its range of cryogenic seals for LNG.The Cryoline LNG hose was designed in response to a market need for a flexible solution for Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) projects, to cover the full spectrum of offloading configurations including aerial, side by side, tandem, floating and submarine.Trelleborg, October 10, 2013last_img read more
