David Beckham believes Ryan Giggs will prove to be the perfect Manchester United manager if he succeeds Louis van Gaal.Giggs has been working as Van Gaal’s number two since ending his glittering playing career in 2014.The current United boss has publicly anointed the Welshman as his eventual successor and Beckham has no doubt that his former teammate and close pal will prove to be a huge success if he does go on to take the top job.In an exclusive interview with talkSPORT, the legendary ex-United star said of his fellow Class of ‘92 graduate: “He’s manager material. He’s got that streak that runs through him that you need to be a top manager.“He has learnt from Sir Alex Ferguson over the years, he is learning from Van Gaal now. He is taking his time, doing all the right things, and without a doubt all Man United fans would like to see Giggsy, at some point, be manager of Manchester United.“To have played for the club the amount he has and have that appreciation and understanding of how Manchester United is, he would be perfect at some point to step in.”David Beckham is returning to Old Trafford on November 14 to play in a charity game in aid of UNICEF. The former Manchester United star will captain a Great Britain and Ireland XI, which will be managed by Sir Alex Ferguson. Tickets are now available on the Manchester United website and are priced from £20 for adults and £10 for children.

Because we have played more with our style. We are qualified and now we have to try to be the top of the group.”Spain is a high-level national team and qualification is a must, but achieving it has its value I want to take the opportunity to dedicate this to Rubiales and Molina because they trusted me, and also Luis Enrique. “It releases tension and doubt, and gives us time to work more comfortably, but without losing tension because the goal is to be one of the six best to go to the draw as seeded teams. It will not be easy, but we will try.”
OTTAWA — The Canadian military plans to send a team back to Mali next month to work with Romanian peacekeepers and minimize a gap in providing medical evacuations to United Nations and Malian forces and civilians.Canadian peacekeepers will cease operations in Mali on Saturday and begin packing up their helicopters and equipment after more than a year in the sprawling West African country.Yet while their Romanian replacements have started to arrive, with help from Canadian Forces transport aircraft, the Romanians aren’t expected to be ready to fly missions until the middle of October. To ensure they are ready, Col. Travis Morehen, commander of the Canadian contingent, says some of his troops who returned home last month will be back for a week in September to teach their Romanian replacements the ropes. The 12-month Canadian mission was scheduled to wrap up all operations at the end of July before the federal government extended medical evacuations another month to the end of August. The UN had asked Canada to keep all its peacekeepers in Mali until the middle of October to prevent any gap between the end of the Canadian mission and the start of Romanian one.The Canadian Press

Free Workshop | August 28: Get Better Engagement and Build Trust With Customers Now This hands-on workshop will give you the tools to authentically connect with an increasingly skeptical online audience. Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Clients want to feel in control. If they need information, they don’t want to go trawling through a website to find it. They want direct contact with their business partners and a swift and relevant response.Yet too many companies today let their clients down when it comes to communication. Only 29 percent of B2B customers feel engaged with their partners. And a low engagement rate can have dramatic consequences, as disconnected customers are liable to take their business elsewhere. While it might sound like notification hell, sharing information frequently with clients and empowering them to correspond with you at any time will keep them from feeling left in the dark.Related: How to Finesse Your Relationship With the 10 Types of Clients Everyone GetsAny company that values learning and teaching as much as doing needs a responsive, agile communications strategy to avoid wasting time and money. Sending notifications that “everything is fine” can be annoying for both clients and your staff. But in some situations, more frequent, personalized updates that offer real insights — and the ability to respond — will instill greater confidence in your company. You can gauge your clients’ desired level of outreach according to their specific needs. Keeping them updated on their projects is easy when you use the right tools. Here are three scenarios in which circumstances dictate the type and frequency of client communication. You’ll also see a few types of resources I use to ensure my own company hits the mark.1. You’re struck by disaster. When disaster strikes or websites go down, clients need to know what you’re doing to resolve the problem. Paying clients don’t like to hear about your worst-case scenario. Whether a line of code took down your online platform or a customer-service response offended a core audience group, you must be immediately accessible to your client. It conveys reassurance and can help make this doomsday event a distant memory.Slack is the heartbeat of our projects for a good reason: True emergencies should be dealt with immediately. When tricky situations can’t be misinterpreted or ignored, we invite clients to continue the conversation by joining our Slack channels. This allows us to put out small fires on a regular basis and provide answers to their questions in real time.Clients can Slack us as often as they’d like because all relevant data is always on offer. When a channel gets too noisy, we set up another room to filter relevant responses. Other companies are embracing this platform, too. Digital security startup Clef launched a Slack community to give engineers easy access to customers, and there are now 2.3 million daily active users across the Slack platform. As more companies adopt this technology, its’s easy to predict that clients soon will demand the same level of responsiveness from all partners.Related: When Digital Meets Culture, Entrepreneurs Learn to Adapt2. Your client wants to be updated at every stage of a project.Share your progress with robust status updates. One of our clients never before had been involved in software development. Understandably, he wanted to know about every step we took. We sent him push notifications, code reports, and even log reports so he could better understand his project. It changed his whole view of how to work with a development team. The process taught him how seemingly innocuous requests to change the code could wreak havoc on the testing timeline. He also appreciated how the knowledge he gained from his deep involvement helped him maximize the development cycle and raise a new round of capital for expansion.Automated notifications are a must for companies trying to stay responsive. A growing number of businesses testing a product or seeking to increase adoption are catching on to the benefits of automated push notifications. With a read rate of up to 97 percent, push notifications provide in-depth information in just a few lines of text. And no one on your team has to do anything to send them. Software provider Jobstream Group sends automated notifications via Zapier and Slack. We use existing integrations, too, but sometimes build our own. By integrating gamification, our system tells us which teammate committed the code and exactly when and how many lines were committed. An automatic score indicates how the code tested and how quickly it can be incorporated.3. Your client demands attention in every situation.Your client is telling you he or she wants to be part of the process, seeing changes as they’re implemented. Such detail-oriented clients want their hands in the guts of the operation. This requires instantaneous and responsive communication as well as email updates when you reach key milestones.Email responders are essential feedback loops that work best for status updates. In addition to giving our clients a heads-up on progress and any information needed to continue, we ask simple questions. This approach not only ensures that clients read our message but also allows us to stay engaged and responsive to their needs. We don’t send autoresponder messages every hour, on the hour. Each project has predetermined phases that merit emails detailing shifting personnel, our schedule, and what our clients should expect next. We also send daily and weekly status updates to maintain visibility. We’ve learned consistency is another key to maintaining relationships.Related: 6 Amazing Apps to Increase Business ProductivityIn today’s hyper-responsive business environment, providing high-quality service requires equally high-quality communication. Don’t leave clients to cope with perceived problems on their own. Instead, give them a green light to participate in the process and check in as often as needed to make sure they feel satisfied, comfortable, and engaged with you and your company. There is a lot of pornography on the internet. There are a lot of teenagers with smartphones. It seems obvious that teens would watch. But maybe it isn’t.In The New York Times magazine, Maggie Jones writes that parents underestimate how much pornography their kids watch on their phones. And many teens who watch porn before taking sex ed or forming sexual relationships end up with skewed ideas about intimacy, consent and pleasure. Combine this with mainstream depictions of sex and relationships, and, as Jones writes:These images confound many teenagers about the kinds of sex they want or think they should have. In part, that’s because they aren’t always sure what is fake and what is real in porn. Though some told me that porn was fantasy or exaggerated, others said that porn wasn’t real only insofar as it wasn’t typically two lovers having sex on film. Some of those same teenagers assumed the portrayal of how sex and pleasure worked was largely accurate. That seems to be in keeping with a 2016 survey of 1,001 11-to-16-year-olds in Britain. Of the roughly half who had seen pornography, 53 percent of boys and 39 percent of girls said it was “realistic.” And in the recent Indiana University national survey, only one in six boys and one in four girls believed that women in online porn were not actually experiencing pleasure: As one suburban high school senior boy told me recently, “I’ve never seen a girl in porn who doesn’t look like she’s having a good time.”Solutions like removing pornography from the internet or smartphones from teenage life are difficult to the point of being technologically or socially impossible. So some educators are trying something new … porn literacy. For this show, we’d like to hear your stories about how pornography has affected you or your children’s ideas about sex. Call us at (855) 236-1212 and share your story.
