Puyol sends a stern warning to Ousmane Dembele

first_imgRight in the middle of the whole controversy with Ousmane Dembele at Barcelona, club legend Carles Puyol wanted to send the French winger a message. The current situation between FC Barcelona and Ousmane Dembele is quite complicated, the club has already expressed that they may want to sell him but Carles Puyol made one final effort to turn him around. The problems that the ‘Mosquito’ is having right now are related with a lack of discipline that is related to his young age, he’s been getting advice from all his teammates and even from his National Team manager. But perhaps getting a warning from Puyol himself might be the words that can make him realize where he is, not every player has the privilege of playing for FC Barcelona in their careers and almost nobody gets a direct scalding from Carles Puyol himself. If you are too young to remember, let us tell you that you missed out on arguably the most disciplined FC Barcelona player of all time, he is also among the most respected figures of the institution and he even has the admiration of players who were his rivals throughout his career.Puyol was part of a charity paddle tournament where he was seen playing alongside his friend Gerard Pique, one of Barcelona’s skippers today.🗣 Carles Puyol: “I don’t know how the dressing room works nowadays but it’s clear that everyone must help Dembélé for the common good. Sometimes, when you’re young, you don’t realize what you have, where you are, and you let things escape from your grasp.”— FC Barcelona Fl 🏆 (@FCBarcelonaFl) November 14, 2018When he attended the press after the event, members of the media wanted to know what he thought about Ousmane Dembele’s current situation and what the French player needed to do in order to reverse it.“Dembele is young, I’m not in the dressing room and I don’t know the day to day,” he said to Marca reporters.“The team have to help him because it’s not easy to adapt to the philosophy of Barcelona where everything is very different.”“Here he’s arrived late to training and he must learn that isn’t good enough.”He has good teachers who will help him, but it will depend on his attitude.”“It’s important that he reflects and thinks about things, because when you’re young you don’t realize what you are letting go.”“In the management of a dressing room there are problems every day because there are many egos in there,” he added.David Villa, FC BarcelonaTop 10 players who played for both Barcelona and Valencia Boro Tanchev – September 14, 2019 Time to talk about the best players who represented both Barcelona and Valencia, prior to their La Liga encounter at Camp Nou this evening.“We all believe that we are the best and we must play, and the job for the coach to choose.”“The important thing then is the attitude of each player, because being ambitious is fine, but respecting the group is always above that.”“I think he’s amenable and if he wants to improve and learn, he is in the best place.”But it depends on him.”Carles Puyol (Barcelona legend): “Dembélé must reflect and think about where he is.” [via md] pic.twitter.com/GxyTs4UzLy— Barça Centre (@barcacentre) November 14, 2018Puyol was also questioned about Gerard Pique’s advice to the French youngster, the Catalan player told Dembele that he needed to start living football 24/7 and Carles’ reaction was funny as he recalled that Pique was also quite a troublemaker back in the day. However, the former Barça skipper also remembered that Gerard is the one who brought his professional life in Barcelona a little bit of joy due to his lively personality.“It’s great that Gerard finally understood it,” joked Puyol.“It’s true that as a professional, you have to live football 24/7, if he says it it’s because it must be true.”“But in all seriousness, I’ve always said that Gerard’s arrival has been very important to me because I really did live football 24/7 and you always have to leave a little time to enjoy life.”“You have to find the moments to have a good time, which is something that Gerard taught me.”“But it is also true that playing at the highest level is always very demanding and you have to stay focused in order to maintain the same level of performance,” he concluded. What do you think about Carles Puyol’s advice to Ousmane Dembele? Avengers Endgames Brie Larson would direct an MCU movie

first_imgIf there’s one character I’m excited to see in Avengers: Endgame, it’s Captain Marvel. She’s the only character we haven’t really seen interact with the rest of the Avengers, and based on the teasers, it looks like she’s ready to get brought up to speed. Recently, Audi released an ad spot called “Debriefing” where the company attempts to show Carol Danvers what she’s missed since her exit from Earth in the 1990s. I got the chance to talk to Captain Marvel herself (Brie Larson) about electric vehicles and why they’re important to her — you can check that Q&A out over on Roadshow — but we also took a few minutes to chat about the MCU and what she hopes the future brings for Marvel’s superhero movie juggernaut. Check out “Debriefing,” and then meet me afterward for our Q&A. Avengers: Endgame is a thrilling sequel to every MCU… I’m so ready to see Kamala Khan in the MCU.Me too, me too! I’m ready. I’m so ready.Big fists!Stretchy arms!So you’re not just an actress, you’re a director, too. Do you have any aspirations to direct an MCU movie?Totally. I mean, for me, whether it’s acting or directing, it’s about story. And I’ve always been incredibly impressed with Marvel’s ability to talk about very difficult subject matters; whether it’s internal human condition stuff or worldwide issues, through the metaphor of superheroes and aliens in space. I feel like they’ve become such a powerful tool of connection that of course it’s something I would love to tackle eventually, given the right story. Because, just on the acting side of Captain Marvel, I worked on it for two years. And I think it’s even longer when you’re writing and directing a Marvel movie. So it has to be a story that you really feel passionate in your gut that it’s undeniable and will carry you through for a couple years.Makes sense. OK, two more questions for you. If Carol were to show up in another MCU film like Thor: Ragnarock, which was kind of a buddy movie between Hulk and Thor, what character would you want to team up with?I’m still really into this idea of an all-female Avengers movie. Getting all the women together and getting them to work as a team … would be so powerful and iconic. Just because having just seen Avengers: Endgame, getting to see all of those characters on screen, you realize the beauty of these new superhero movies is that everybody has their own special skills they bring to the table. Their own, you know, superpower. And to see women work together, and in that way as a team, is not something we’ve seen enough of on screen. You had to go through two different workouts: Physically, we all know you got in insane shape for Captain Marvel. But you’ve also talked a lot about feeling more empowered and able to stand up for yourself and what you believe in throughout this process. What’s your advice for anybody looking to fight for a cause? How can they “flex their activism muscles,” so to speak, and make a bigger impact over time? The main thing is finding out the thing that only you can do. And you might be surprised to discover what that is. Telling stories, making movies that reflect my value system, that put people in the shoes of others, that are able to bridge empathy and show you what the world looks like, has been really profound for me, and in some ways, much more impactful than any words I could ever possibly say, or any street corner that I could shout on. But everybody has their own unique thing. 3:14 Comments 5 Show Us Yours: Marvel fandom pictures from our readers 26 Photos Share your voice Endgame is here TV and Moviescenter_img I was just at the Time 100 Gala. And it was really powerful to be in that room of people who are all working really diligently and in completely different ways, whether that’s in science or in politics, in any part of the globe, the arts, music … there are so many ways to get involved, and it starts with you. It starts with you figuring out what your thing is that you bring to the table, and then living your life by those value systems.Avengers: Endgame is in theaters worldwide, but if you haven’t caught it yet, you can get ready by watching every other Endgame trailer and teaser right here. Captain Marvel Marvel The Avengers How to watch every Marvel Cinematic Universe film in the right order CNET: What kinds of technology would Carol be the most surprised by when she returned to Earth? If, of course, there wasn’t a Snapture to avenge?Brie Larson: Well, Carol’s sort of interesting in that she’s at the intersection of like, super-advanced technology and the ’90s at the same time, so I mean, she’s already — even in the ’90s — when she comes down to Earth, surprised by the lack of technology. Things like, carrying around a driver’s license or an ID card just seem totally insane to her. So I think communication devices would be the thing she would be both surprised to see how far it’s come, and also wish that it had gone further; having come from, you know, outer space, where they have much more advanced communications equipment.During your time playing Carol, you’ve been really vocal about intersectional feminism. There are so many amazing female heroes in Marvel Comics. Which one you would like to see headline their own MCU movie? Anyone you’re just dying to see on screen?I would love to see a Valkyrie solo movie for sure. I’d love to see a Ms. Marvel movie for sure. I mean, they haven’t even begun to tap into her abilities. And I love her story so much. It would be my hope she comes in sooner rather than later as Carol’s sidekick, and then eventually kind of takes over. And then of course, the Wakanda ladies, I could watch a whole movie of those warrior women, there’s so much to be mined from that. So I think there’s a lot of material out there and a lot of new worlds to delve into. 49 Photoslast_img read more

IIM Bangalore sees fall in campus hiring by ecommerce firms Report

first_imgCampus hiring by e-commerce firms at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) has fallen this year. The e-commerce firms have made only 54 job offers to students at IIM-B, compared to 68 last year.Surprisingly, Snapdeal, one of the top three online retailers in India, did not recruit any student at IIM-B this time. Last year, it had given 17 offers, emerging as the top recruiter at the institute in the e-commerce space.India’s largest online retailer Flipkart made 11 offers this year and Amazon hired 16 students, The Financial Express reported.”The frenzy that was there for the last couple of years in this sector is definitely getting moderated and it is visible. Companies would try to cut down cost in every possible aspect, as cost becomes an important driver when they look at profitability at this stage,” Raja Lahiri, partner at consultancy Grant Thornton India, told the daily.Uber, Ola Cabs, Paytm, Urban Ladder, AskmeBazaar, Hopscotch, and CarTrade were the other major e-commerce firms that conducted campus recruitment at IIM-B.However, an IIM official, requesting anonymity, told the FE that students at the institute were cautioned over accepting offers from consumer Internet firms. In the December quarter last year, firms like FoodPanda, Tinyowl, Housing.com and others had cut jobs massively amid escalating costs and poor demand for their services.”Earlier we were very excited about the new opportunities coming up, but after recent examples of how start-ups tackled employees while winding up has left us thinking. Not that we are averse to working with e-commerce companies, but we are treading cautiously,” he said.last_img read more

AgustaWestland chopper scam ED raids involved firms freezes assets worth Rs 86

first_imgThe Enforcement Directorate on Monday raided several firms and their premises across New Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad, freezing over Rs. 86 crore shares held by them in ventures abroad, reported Press Trust of India. The raids were part of the agency’s probe into Rs. 3,600 crore AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal.Officials reportedly said the agency seized a number of documents during the searches as they were connected to the case. It also ordered freezing of shares worth Rs. 86 crore of firms based in Dubai, Mauritius and Singapore. The report noted that both the ED and the CBI have issued judicial requests to many countries in order to collect more evidences and proofs.AgustaWestland’s parent company Finmeccanica allegedly paid Rs. 360 crore kickback to Indian individuals and enterprises to secure the deal. The deal involved selling 12 helicopters to be used by VVIPs in India and was masked as transactions performing multiple work contracts, reported IANS.Under the prevention of money laundering act (PMLA), the ED registered the case in 2014 and has so far listed 21 people in its FIR. Former Air Force Chief S.P. Tyagi, businessman Gautam Khaitan, Italian middlemen Christian Michel James, Guido Ralph Haschke and Carlo Gerosa have been named in the FIR.The Indian government in January 2014 cancelled the deal alleging breach of contractual obligations and charges of bribery. However, investigation in Italy reached a new crescendo with the chief executive of Finmeccanica held guilty of international corruption and money laundering. The court also highlighted that a few politicians too were involved in the corruption in the chopper deal in 2010.last_img read more

Bengaluru airport to roll out facial recognition system to reduce congestion at

first_imgKempegowda International Airport BengaluruPixabayBengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) will soon have biometric facial recognition technology at the boarding points. The technology is already available at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport under the Narendra Modi government’s Digit Yatra initiative.”As an outcome of trials conducted and proof of concept established over 24 months ago, BIAL is implementing a biometric-based passenger boarding process at the KIA. It will ensure quick, seamless boarding for passengers,” Bangalore International Airport Limited officials told The Times of India. At the moment, travellers are required to show their boarding pass at multiple checkpoints. However, with facial recognition, travellers will have to show their documents and have their faces scanned at one point.Reports state that the first phase will be rolled out by July-end and will be implemented at the domestic terminal. After the trial run and the technology flows smoothly, it will be implemented for international passengers after the go-ahead by the government as well as other approvals by regulatory authorities.KIA in Bengaluru has already a body scanner initiative trial in place at the security checkpoints. Those travellers who don’t want to go through the body scanner will be frisked. Before installing the body scanners, a trial run at KIA began on July 1 and is expected to go on for three to four weeks. The body scanners will be situated at airports deemed as ‘hypersensitive’. The other airports include Delhi, Mumbai, Amritsar, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. Along with them, three airports in Jammu and Kashmir are also included in the list, reports Hindustan Times. This initiative was made mandatory by the Bureau for Civil Aviation Secretary (BCAS).One of the reasons to implement the new technology is to reduce the amount of time spent at the counter which leads to congestion and help make travel more efficient and hassle-free.last_img read more
